How Coursing Works

When an order includes course labels, Fresh KDS automatically organizes items into distinct sections, displaying course headers above each group. This ensures that kitchen staff can prioritize preparation based on the correct serving sequence.

Course labels
  • Course Labels – Clearly displayed above item names, grouping dishes that should be served together.
  • Custom Course Names – For POS systems that support it, courses will be grouped alphabetically based on custom course names.
  • Shared Items – Items not assigned to a guest or seat number will be displayed at the top of their course section, indicating they are shared among the table.

Guest & Seat Numbers

‍For restaurants that assign specific seat numbers, Fresh KDS provides additional clarity:

  • Guest numbers appear below the course label and above the item names, ensuring staff knows which dish belongs to which guest.
  • If seat numbers are enabled, they will also be included on printed tickets for more accurate food delivery.
