If you use the customer messaging feature in Fresh KDS, you will be billed monthly based on your usage. The cost is per segment for each message sent. In the US and Canada, the rate is $0.01 USD per segment. Messages longer than 160 characters or containing Unicode characters will be split into multiple segments. Due to Twilio restrictions, customer messaging in the UK is not supported after June 1, 2023. For more details, visit the Fresh KDS rates for customer messaging guide.
To use "I'm Here" notifications, you must be enrolled in the Premium or Unlimited Tier and have SMS messaging enabled. Include an "I'm Here" link in your SMS messages by navigating to Settings > Messages in the Fresh KDS App, and toggling it on for the desired SMS notification type. When a customer clicks the link upon arrival, a car icon and optional alert will appear in the Take Out View. For more details, visit the Fresh KDS I'm Here Notifications Guide.
To use Fresh KDS's SMS feature, obtain customer consent while placing the order by informing them about SMS updates. If the customer agrees, the cashier enters the phone number for order updates. Fresh KDS temporarily retains the phone number only while the order is active and deletes it after completion. Customers can opt-out by replying STOP to any SMS.
